Mark and Zach were awesome to work with. We made a trip from Utah, and it was well worth it. If you’re not a familiar rider, they will go over all the gauges and features with you so you feel comfortable. They are very organized and paperwork is easy to go over. I highly recommend going to them for any motorcycle purchase.

These guys are awesome! Mark and Zach are the father and son in charge of this operation and they were both very helpful and friendly throughout the buying process. They were very open and upfront about their business and how it works. Mark wasn't willing to budge on the price at all but that's okay because he gave a great deal on a Honda CBR600RR, priced well under market value. The motorcycle was in excellent condition and has been running like a champ for the past month I've owned it. Their inventory isn't very large but all of their motorcycles on the shop floor were visibly in great condition and they have super competitive pricing.

I was a bit nervous handling a motorcycle purchase completely via the internet but these guys were the 'real deal' when it came to up front, honest dealers. The bike was exactly as advertised. I could not believe how quickly they were able to get everything processed and the bike delivered. No surprise charges. What you see is what you pay, not like some of the dealers I was talking to that kept adding $1000 here and $1000 there until I would have been paying double advertised price. Communications were prompt and professional. Just finished up the last paperwork. I will definitely be giving Mark and Zach a look for my next purchase.

Been riding for 6 years now, had a few different bikes, but had never bought a used one online. After searching for the better part of a year for this bike in this color for a reasonable price, I was about to give up. Lucky enough found a listing all the way out in California (I'm from OH) and a caption saying they would ship across the U.S. A phone call with Mark and a few days later, the bike was in route. Phenomenal customer service with real people. If for some reason I need another bike, I would buy again through these guys.

All I have to say is Mark knows how to do what it takes to get you on the bike you want for the most reasonable price. He and his son Zach are super down to earth and friendly, yet still professional. I purchased my 2018 Yamaha R1 from SDME and I am in love with it. Mark was very upfront about the bike, what it's true purpose is, and was very knowledgeable. He wanted to make sure I was safe and knew exactly what I was getting. Mark and Zach are riders first and foremost and it really comes through. If you have any reservations because they are an independent dealer, just trust me and give them a shot. You won't be disappointed. Mark's office is also adorned with some very cool motorcycle memorabilia which shows you his passion for riding. I would much rather deal with SDME than a typical dealership. It is way more personal, very friendly, and pressure free. The prices are beyond affordable, and the prices are advertised out-the-door, no fees, no tricks. The price listed on the website is exactly what I got my R1 for, which I have to say I was skeptical of at first. They delivered my bike in time for my birthday which was the icing on the cake. If I could give more than 5 star I would. At the very least, if you see a bike advertised and can't believe the price, give Mark a call. It will be well worth your time. I did not even haggle on the price because I knew the deal I was getting was already the best deal on the market. Thanks again Mark and Zach, and ride safe everyone!

Just bought a Yamaha Bolt R-Spec from them. Very happy with the turnout. Great looking bike. We had it pending over the phone and Mark drove the bike up to Long Beach. He purchased my Lance Scooter from me and I paid the difference on the Yamaha. Didn't charge me for delivery and made it really easy. TLDR: An honest and trustworthy small business run by a father-son duo, with highly competitive and fair prices for their inventory. I'm now the proud owner of a 2017 Moto Guzzi V7 III Stone purchased from San Diego Motorcycle Exchange. I had initially come across the listing on CycleTrader.com and the detailed photos of the bike drew my attention to San Diego Motorcycle Exchange. Seeing that this business had little customer reviews, I conducted an initial cursory review of the company through public information available and determined that this is truly a legitimate company (Secretary of State business listing, registered business owner(s), etc.). I got in touch with Mark, the owner of San Diego Motorcycle Exchange, and he was very upfront about his small business and how they operated. The prices for the bikes shown on the website are the true cost ('Out-The-Door cost, excluding sales tax'), as you'll only need to apply sales tax based on where you live. The Moto Guzzi was priced competitively, and more importantly, Mark did not bullsh*t me at any stage of the sales process. This was a very different experience compared to a traditional motorcycle dealership that I visited in Sonoma County, CA (sleazy salesmen who lie and waste your time). As I live in Northern California, I flew down to San Diego to meet Mark and inspected the bike. As he stated and true to his word, the bike was in great condition. I finished the test ride and signed the finalization paperwork on the same day. Mark was then kind enough to arrange for shipment of the motorcycle back to Northern California. It turns out that even the delivery driver he contracted is an upstanding guy! Final tidbit regarding San Diego Motorcycle Exchange - be sure to read their terms of sale on their website (found in each individual motorcycle listing). That's what sold me on them, and their guarantees to stand by their inventory indicated that this is an honest business.

Absolutely wonderful experience! I will admit I was skeptical at first, but after going through the process with Mark I received my 2018 Gsx-s750 in perfect condition. Still waiting on receiving the title, but Mark has kept in consistent contact with me through the entire process, even with some admittedly pestering on my end, he kept his cool and has delivered on everything so far. Will definitely look their way for my next bike!

I just bought this bike! I "discovered" the Honda CB 1100 on YouTube a few weeks ago and couldn't believe that it's no longer available in the US. I was always on the lookout for such a bike since I am an "old timer" but couldn't find the perfect one until now. I almost gave up on having this beauty when I made a last ditch effort and searched the web. I found it at SAN DIEGO MOTORCYCLE EXCHANGE last week. I didn't want to believe my eyes; a 2013 brand new Honda CB 1100! I sent an email early last week to the dealer saying that I was interested in buying that bike. I got and immediate reply from Mark that it was indeed for sale. Next day, on Friday I called him, I made an offer, he made a counter offer and the deal was made. He was very courteous, responsive and accommodating. I drove to San Diego on next Monday, Presidents Day (when all motorcycle stores are closed), friendly and courteous Zak was there, wiped off the bike I looked at it and as a pleasant surprise he pulled out the nice wind shield that came with it. By then I was 100% convinced that I made a good deal that included shipping the bike to my home. Mark arrived by then, he prepared the paperwork, I pulled out the checks, we bumped our elbows and I was on my way back home in Santa Clarita. On Wednesday afternoon around 1pm Zak had the bike on the trailer in front of our house! I leapt on my new miracle machine and it was not disappointing. I have three other bikes, a 1999 Kawasaki Voyager XII, a 2016 Triumph America LT and a BMW R nine T Pure, but none of them shift gears so smoothly as the Honda CB1100. It's also very quiet, very responsive and quick. Rides like a butterfly, sounds like a bumble bee! My collection is complete; it took less than a week to complete it. I've been buying motorcycles in San Diego since 1972. I've bought bikes from people and from dealerships. I've made many on the spot buys. I'm winding down my riding after 53 years. I gave my youngest son my Ducati and I wanted to buy my other son a bike who lives in Northern California. He told me he wanted a Honda Rebel. I had to Google it. After seeing what it was, I started looking on Craigs list, in Northern California. There were bikes up there, but not like the blue one that was for sale here in town. I've never shipped a bike before but I decided to take a look at the blue one at San Diego Motorcycle Exchange. I met Zach there at an appointed time in Sorrento Valley . When I pulled up, the bike was out in the sun and ready to take a look at. Zach met me at the bike and it took me about two minutes to determine the bike was exactly as advertised. He was there to answer my questions. He wasn't a typical motorcycle salesman. Zero pressure. In the ad, they said they would ship it anywhere in the US. We made the deal, I paid him and off we go. This was on Monday. He called me that same day and had found a shipper that could deliver the bike in Elk Grove by Thursday. By Thursday afternoon, my son had his bike and he couldn't have been more stoked. From the showing, to the deal, to the paper work, to the shipping, everything was fast, easy, and professional. I could not recommend them more. 5 stars for SD Motorcycle Exchange.

Mark and Zach epitomize the phrase 'Customer Service'. Purchasing my 2018 Ducati Scrambler from San Diego Motorcycle Exchange was an awesome experience. They went out of their way to accommodate me at every step of the buying process and even gave me a great deal! Had a great experience buying a bike from Mark at San Diego Motorcycle Exchange! I live 1,300+ miles away in Seattle, so naturally the potential for things to go wrong is greater than if I was just down the street, but everything went off without a hitch. They picked up my trade in and delivered my new (new to me) bike without any issues. Even when I went to the dreaded DoL to transfer it into my name, the paperwork they provided was proper and complete, so there was no problems there either. The bike itself in person was just as shown in their pictures and YouTube walkaround video. All in all, for my first time buying a bike sight-unseen from a dealership 2 states away, I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. Thanks to Mark, the transport driver, and anyone else involved for taking such good care of me!

I had a complicated deal with Mark that took some time and through it all he was professional and responsive! Super nice guy and he knows motorcycles. I traded/sold 3 bikes to him and picked up one from him. Positive friendly guy and a go getter. We turned the deal around quickly but some paperwork lingered with out of state title but we got it worked out and in the end I could not be happier with the deal and Mark. I bought a 2018 Street Triple R lightly used with about 1k miles. Basically a brand new bike, and the price was even better! Once I went in to see the bike, I mentioned I wouldn’t be able to get the bike home since I didn’t have anyone to drive my car home. So they towed the bike about 70 miles free of charge that same day once all the paper work was done.

I very rarely write reviews but had such a fantastic experience with this business I feel compelled to share my experience. I sent an email to Mark about selling my Ducati Scrambler. He responded back very quickly and asked me to fill out a super simple form. Mark sent me a few follow up questions, I sent him photos, and he sent me a very fair offer right off the bat. He did not low ball me or take advantage of the fact I needed to sell my bike because I lost my job. We agreed to meet a day later and agreed on a very very fair offer. Absolute first rate company here and Mark is a solid dude. If you're looking to work with a knowledgeable and fair business, look no further. I wanted to sell my 2018 Grom in order to boost by budget a little while searching for new freeway friendly bike. I decided to take a chance with Mark and his operation rather than continuing with lowballing dealership trade-in values, or the shadiness of Craigslist strangers. I couldn't have made a better choice. Mark offered me an extremely fair amount for the bike, and I was paid in cash on the spot. I can't imagine a sale going smoother or faster. Mark is sincere and straightforward; none of the eye-roll inducing fake friendliness that you get at big dealerships. If you're looking at selling your bike and/or getting a used one, you should put San Diego Motorcycle Exchange at the top of your list of options. You won't be disappointed.
